Mavy Mangat is a lifelong Calgarian and practicing litigation lawyer in the city. Born and raised in Calgary, the city has been the foundation of Mavy’s identity, both personally and professionally. Mavy pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Calgary, graduating with distinction. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University, achieving Dean’s List honors and receiving the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for academic excellence. He has volunteered with cultural and community centres in Calgary, including the Genesis Centre.
Mavy believes in the power of hard work, strong leadership, and a commitment to the principles of pragmatism and accountability. He understands the various challenges facing Calgary-Skyview and is prepared to work for solutions that will benefit residents.
Professionally, Mavy has successfully appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. His experience in advocacy and negotiation provides him with the appropriate tools to advocate for issues pertinent to Calgary-Skyview.
Earlier in his career, while working in the community of Country Hills providing legal services to individuals and small business owners, Mavy learned to value the importance of listening to concerns and delivering results. He understands the voices of all residents matter, and he will fight to ensure no one feels ignored. Mavy’s legal career has refined his skills in advocating for, and defending the rights of others. This dedication now extends beyond the courtroom as he seeks to be the voice of the constituents of Calgary-Skyview. He is seeking the Federal Conservative nomination for Calgary-Skyview because he aims to provide strong and accountable leadership and to fight for the betterment of this constituency.
